Tea Preville

Like Gabriele Muenter of the Blue Riders of Germany, Tea’s work is “diverse but generally reflects an interest in free experimentation and spiritual expression.” Tea’s recent body of work found her searching for active spiritual gathering places in the radius of 50 kilometers of her Nelson, BC studios which resulted in 66 plus active sites. This body of work demanded quality oil paint on linen canvas. Keeping in her Whimsical Canadiana style, Tea accomplished her mandate of 36 paintings for her Columbia Basin Trust and Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance grant then continued painting for one more year. This large body of work is historical landscapes – places of spiritual gathering.Tea’s next adventure will take her into the land of portraiture with the celebrated artist Martinho Correia who studied the European Masters technique of portraiture in oil for 8 years in Florence Italy. Her work can be viewed by appointment at Tea’s Studios @ 1716 Silver King Road, Nelson, BC Call for appointment – 250-352-0333.
